About Treatment

Pat Moore Foundation is a treatment facility. We offer detoxification, stabilization, and primary residential treatment.

Please note: Residents requiring initial medical detoxification will be referred to licensed, addiction specialist doctors who have maintained a relationship with Pat Moore Foundation and our residents for over 30 years.

Here, residents are part of their recovery. Working as a team, along with clinicians and Pat Moore Foundation team members, residents collaborate to build a plan that works for them. They do so by incorporating counseling, sober living skills, and spiritual healing into a treatment that enables the best chances for sustainable sobriety. We empower residents to be active in their treatment and recovery by providing them with the tools they need to find their path to sobriety. We know that recovery is a path that everyone has to walk themselves—but at Pat Moore Foundation, no one has to walk alone.

At the Pat Moore Foundation, we’ve been there. Really. Our staff has all suffered from addictions and struggled through early recoveries, and we want to pass on what we’ve learned.

Individualized Care

Addiction treatment should not be one-size-fits-all. After all, no two addictions are alike, so no two treatments should be. Every individual has their own unique history and needs, and at Pat Moore Foundation we respect that. We know that individualized treatment—tailored to specific needs and not a general recovery rubric—is the best opportunity for long term sobriety. Every addiction had its own path and so does every recovery.

One-on-One Counseling

To greater serve the individual needs of residents, Pat Moore Foundation provides one-on-one counseling with both a master’s-level clinician as well as a University of California Irvine licensed psychiatrist.

Collaborative and Comprehensive Treatment

Pat Moore Foundation aims to approach and treat addiction from every angle. In addition to clinical treatment services—such as dual diagnosis services and general extended care—we also focus on the spiritual journey of recovery. We know that incorporating your family into the treatment process ensures the best chance for recovery, so in addition to our proven, weekly support and counseling programs for families, Pat Moore Foundation offers family nights and weekends. Our easy access to Newport’s Back Bay and surrounding areas provides residents with ample opportunities for peaceful relaxation. Scheduled outings—such as kayaking, whale watching, patio lunches at the Newport Beach Yacht Club, and more—allow time for fellowship among residents. A tranquil monthly retreat to a beautiful cabin in the picturesque San Bernardino Mountains offers residents time for solitary reflection to connect with whatever it is they seek to find.

Gender Specific Treatment

Our co-ed campus and programs are built with gender-responsive considerations for the differences women and men experience throughout addiction, treatment, and recovery.

Accommodations for Special Needs

We are committed to providing accessible addiction programs for individuals with disabilities throughout their treatment and recovery.

Proven Programs

At Pat Moore Foundation, we have been empowering men and women caught in the cycle of substance abuse and addiction for over 30 years to achieve sobriety. Our programs encourage a multifaceted approach to the the core elements of recovery—spiritual, emotional, physical, mental, and social—and support each individual in developing sustainable strategies for long-term success. We know that there is no quick fix for substance abuse treatment; so we focus not only on immediate solutions to immediate problems, but also on long-term spiritual recovery and the continued integration of practical sober living skills into everyday life.

Intensive and Immersive

A toxic environment is dangerous for individuals in treatment and can be hard to disentangle from when friends and even family members use or abuse drugs. We know that limiting the access to negative environments, as well as many social and environmental triggers where addiction has possibly been normalized, is necessary, particularly in early recovery. At Pat Moore Foundation, individuals are surrounded by others committed to total sobriety—both residents and staff.

Licensed and Certified

Our programs are state-licensed and certified treatments for alcohol and drug addictions. Our treatment programs are nationally recognized residential treatment alternatives for men and women. Our partnership with the University of California Irvine School of Psychiatry gives our residents access to unparalleled counseling services. UC Irvine’s psychiatry program has traditionally required more substance abuse training than many other programs—and even more than the national standard—making them exceptionally skilled in the area of substance abuse counseling. After evaluating many treatment facilities, the UC Irvine School of Psychiatry chose to partner with Pat Moore Foundation due to our exceptional standards of care.

Experienced Staff

When we say our staff is experienced, we mean it. Each staff member truly has a heart for recovery, as they are currently graduates of recovery programs themselves. We understand treatment and detox in the way only another person who has been through recovery can. We know that a lasting recovery requires long-term investment and we are with you for the long haul. We are here to work with individuals through the challenging, yet exciting stages of a rewarding life in recovery, because we know how rewarding it can be!

Road to a Healthy and Happy Recovery

Spiritual Recovery

A successful recovery is a process; it does not happen instantly, or always easily, and it involves a delicate synchronization of many different elements. While detox and residential treatment can be essential, it is also important to focus on each individual’s spiritual recovery. At Pat Moore Foundation, we recognize that spiritual healing is a critical part of a successful, sustainable recovery and have developed our programs with this in mind. From in-depth counseling services, family counseling, to activities designed to enable residents to quietly reflect and connect with their sobriety, and more, we empower residents to experience spiritual recovery.
