Suboxone Detox & Treatment

Suboxone

In 2002, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the combination product of buprenorphine and naloxone for use in opioid treatment. This combination product, Suboxone, was designed to be taken sublingually, under the tongue, to decrease the potential for abuse by injection. The purpose of Suboxone is it help alleviate withdrawal from opioid drugs, which are painkillers like, morphine and other codeine based drugs and medications. (OxyContin, Vicodin, crystal methamphetamine)

Buprenorphine is the primary ingredient in Suboxone, and naloxone is added to discourage addicts from dissolving the tablet and injecting it.

If you are nervous about stopping your drug use because you've tried a number of times, but the withdrawal symptoms were intense and painful, well, then you should understand you are not alone in this. In some cases some of us have even tried to stop, using methadone, but then ended up becoming addicted methadone instead. Suboxone was designed for people just like you, and many people use this medication to help them detox from methadone.
