Drug Abuse Treatment | Setting the Bar

Creating a safe environment for someone unsure if they need help from a drug abuse treatment center isn't the biggest challenge. Convincing yourself or a loved one that you need drug abuse treatment is the biggest challenge. We see so many Movies of the Week on television or even Celebrity Rehab, and we can become convinced that, "As long as I don't have it that bad, I am okay."

Which to me is a level of insanity and that's where addiction can lead. Think about it. Why does one need to become ill, lose their family and home to get the help they need? My thought is that the person's addiction has gotten hold of them and they use shows like this to set the bar of normalcy. As long as they don't drop below that, they are fine.
