Drug Abuse Treatment that Fits You Best | Part 3
In parts one and two of our three-part drug abuse treatment series we covered what 'high bottom' addict means and what an intervention process is, even offering a link to educating family and friends who need to consider this method of help for their loved one.
In the third part of this series, we will cover alternative sentencing, which is when one is given the option of prison, jail, or a drug abuse treatment facility. This group tends to be considered non-violent and low risk, and probably in court as a result of their alcohol or drug use; multiple DUI's, drunk and disorderly, drug dealing, possession, and other similar crimes. There are basically three types of alternative sentencing: drug court, strict program of random drug testing and inpatient treatment; sober living, committing to a drug and alcohol detox and rehabilitation living facility that's geared toward people with the same issues; and community service; attending 12-step meetings and required to work in city organizations to perform clean up duties in and around the city.
There are other types of addicts out there, so if you don't fall into one of these three don't feel you are beyond help. All you need to do is ask for help and listen to those who are in a position to help. Call one of our counselors today.
