Collegiate Treatment

The Collegiate Treatment Center (CTC) at the Pat Moore Foundation is the first in-patient treatment program designed specifically for today’s college student. The Center includes programs and lectures focusing on study skills, time management, coping skills, returning to campus sober, finding local meetings and other recovery resources.

At CTC we specialize in working with college students struggling with addictive disorders. Our staff is trained to deal with the specific issues unique to college students in primary treatment. We address state dependent learning, study skills, alternative coping strategies, time management, and other topics essential for building a foundation of success in their recovery and in their academics.

As the treatment process unfolds we begin working with our clients to help them prepare for transition back to campus. We work individually with each client, their family, and their campus of origin to create a plan that will maximize their chance of success back on campus.

CTC is headed by Randy Haveson who has been working as a counselor and university administrator since 1987. The Founder and Executive Director of nationally recognized HERO House, Randy has an M.A. in counseling and extensive experience working as a therapist in treatment centers, private practices, and agencies, primarily in the field of addiction. Randy has also served as a drug and alcohol counselor and coordinated substance abuse education programs on three college campuses around the country, receiving national recognition for his work with students and administrators. He is also a professional speaker, traveling across the country to educate college students about alcohol and other drug use and abuse, as well as topics related to leadership and self-esteem. Randy has been in recovery from his own addiction since May of 1984.

The Pat Moore Foundation offers medically managed detox. Our physicians utilize a wide range of pharmaceuticals including Naltrexone and Suboxone to medically manage a fast, pain-free start to sobriety. Individuals participating in our CTC alcoholism and drug treatment programs are in a unique residential setting among other college students, and are usually able to participate in counseling and enjoy the company and comfort of their peers. Should individuals require further medical attention, Costa Mesa and the Newport Beach area have renowned hospitals within a few minutes of this facility.
