Into the Dark of Night | Part 1 - A Call to be Answered
Submitted by recoveryrob on September 8, 2010 - 6:10pmWhen the phone rings in the middle of the night it's usually bad news. So, when the phone rang at 2:30 a.m. I was braced for the news as I struggled to find my phone before it woke everyone in the house. This pre-dawn phone call was no exception to the norm. The man on the phone was immediately apologetic for calling at such an early hour, my stomach flopped. I knew the news was coming, I just didn't know when or how, or even exactly what it would be.

Submitted by sobersam on May 20, 2010 - 3:58pmI’d arrived at the drug detox and alcohol treatment center with my girlfriend. A very beautiful place in the mountains of Colorado. There was a main lodge where the groups, offices and cafeteria were at. There were small cabins where we stayed and often elk would be seen on the grounds around the facility.
