Alcohol Drug Treatment | Does Relapse Equal Failure?
An inpatient or outpatient alcohol drug treatment program that teaches you about the possibility of relapse and what to do if it does happen is one you can truly trust. If you do relapse, it is important to understand you haven't failed, nor has the alcohol drug treatment program failed. Evaluating what might not have worked is where the focus should be, so getting right back on the proverbial wagon is key to finding that sobriety again.
Sometimes when we feel we're doing well, we as addicts step away, and think we are 'good' now. We have all our power back. We might even go back to some of our old hangouts where we drank or used. We might even begin hanging out with the same people we used with. Sometimes this leads us to a relapse. This of course doesn't mean you can't hang out with old friends! This just means you should look into your own personal motivations and what your friends' level of support is regarding you not using.
ou'll learn through treatment what 'motivations' are behind you using again. You'll also learn a lot more about friends. Some friends will be thrilled you are in recovery, and some might even be threatened by it. So, learning to distinguish the two will help keep you from relapse.
