Treatment Services and Schedule

No two drug addicts or alcoholics are alike, so no two alcohol or drug addiction treatment plans should be. Our qualified staff will create an individualized treatment plan that meets each person's needs and will give them their best opportunity to achieve long term sobriety.

Our 24-hour facilities for drug and alcohol treatment in Orange County are staffed with highly skilled rehab professionals that provide a full range of the following services:

  • Individual Counseling Sessions
  • Group Counseling Sessions
  • Medically Managed Detox
  • Non-Medical Detox
  • Dual Diagnosis Services
  • Court and Probation Assistance
  • Interventions
  • Medical Assessments
  • Extended Care
  • Optional Christian Track

Our program's social model nature emphasizes learning through "doing" and "experiencing" while providing positive role models. At the same time the core elements of recovery-spiritual, emotional, physical, mental and social are addressed in a variety of ways.

Groups:

Life Group - This group focuses on day-to-day living. After years of alcohol or drug abuse, many people have not developed some of the basic life skills. These groups will address issues that allow successful skills to be practiced and will increase an individual's ability to live a sober, fulfilling life.

Group Process - This forum allows men and women to discuss and resolve underlying emotional issues that often hinder sobriety. Past behaviors, habits and beliefs are discussed on a individual basis, using the group process. This technique helps to develop productive ways to handle new and difficult situations.

Relapse Prevention - Learning how to enjoy life and live sober is a lifetime objective achieved one day at a time. We will identify "triggers" that so often lead to relapse. Our focus in this group is on how to make positive changes in our daily behavior that might lead to relapse after leaving rehab.

Women's Alcohol and Drug Detoxification

Research indicates that more than 4 million women in this country alone need treatment for substance abuse. Research also indicates that women sometimes become addicted more quickly to certain drugs such as crack cocaine or prescription painkillers even after just casual or experimental use. Therefore, by the time a woman enters treatment, she may be severely addicted, making treatment more difficult. Research also indicates that for women in particular, treatment is more successful when they stay in regular contact with their treatment provider. After completing a drug treatment program, women also need services to assist them in sustaining their recovery and in rejoining the community.

At the Pat Moore Foundation's alcohol treatment centers for women in Orange County we tailor our women's programs to meet the often unique needs of women in rehab. We have designed a completely separate, gender specific, intensive drug and alcohol treatment program for women that addresses known issues through one-on-one counseling, process groups, women's peer groups, relapse prevention, women's lectures, in-house women's 12-step meetings, outside women's 12-step meetings, discharge and aftercare planning. The housing is on a unique co-ed campus where women live in cottages separate from men and participate in gender specific groups within the reassuring environment of our clean and sober community.

Each member of our staff understands the woman's recovery process from a unique perspective. Our caring and highly skilled staff provides each addicted woman with the necessary tools that are required to re-enter the mainstream of life a sober, happy and productive individual.

Men's Alcohol and Drug Detoxification

The social model nature of our men's alcohol and drug treatment program emphasizes learning through "doing" and "experiencing" while providing positive role models.

Our gender specific men's drug and alcohol rehab program begins with an individualized treatment plan tailored to the resident's needs. This plan is based on information that is collected during an initial assessment interview. The information will include his history with drugs and alcohol, any prior attempts at recovery, his medical history, any psychological concerns, possible legal situations and his family history.

When the treatment plan is in place, the core elements of recovery-physical, emotional, mental and spiritual can be addressed through individual counseling, process groups, peer groups, relapse prevention groups, lectures, in-house 12-step meetings and outside 12-step meetings. In addition, he will participate in living skills (cleaning, light campus work, etc.) daily to develop a sense of humility, personal responsibility and social accountability, all tools required to function in a sober, responsible manner after he leaves treatment.

In order to break away from the daily routine of treatment and to promote good health, we offer supervised physical activities such as aerobics and weight lifting. There is also time set aside on weekends for an outing that may range from a movie to a swim in the ocean, letter writing, visitors or just relaxation.

Every member of our staff understands the addiction recovery process from a unique perspective that only another addict or alcoholic can. The goal of each of these highly skilled professionals is to provide every addict or alcoholic the necessary tools and skills he or she will need to return to the mainstream of life a happy and productive individual.

A Week in Treatment

The typical week with us will include substance abuse education, process groups, relapse prevention, one-on-one counseling sessions, therapy group, relationship group, multi-family group, and 12-Step and other faith-based meetings, both on campus and outside in the community with staff supervision. We also have outside activities where our residents go to the gym, take walks around the upper Newport Bay Wildlife Preserve, attend movies, or may have a bowling night.

The resident's treatment plan will be developed, as a team, with the resident, the case manager, and Clinical team, to allow the resident to focus on key issues that, in the past, may have been a stumbling block for long term recovery.

The foundation believes in the power of the group, and allows a lot of positive interaction among residents, helping to equip them with the knowledge and tools to embrace a clean and sober lifestyle, once they have completed their program with us.
